Dean L. Allen

CPA, CVA, MAFF
Principal

Dean directs the firm’s business valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support services. His area of valuation and litigation expertise include buy-sell, estate gifting, divorce, shareholder/partner disputes and damages calculations. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF). He testifies regularly as an expert witness with courtroom experience in matrimonial litigation, lost profits, and other business litigation matters. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Linfield College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1989. Dean is a supporter of various community organizations and when away from the office he enjoys watching baseball, running, fishing, and spending time with family.  (Curriculum Vitae)

Stephen P. Joye

CPA, CVA, MAFF
Principal

Stephen was born and raised in Salem, Oregon where he graduated from Douglass McKay High School in 1986. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with an emphasis in foreign language from Missouri State University in 1993 and his Masters of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 2006. He is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), , a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). He has served as treasurer on various community service organization boards and chaired their finance committees. He is currently serving as a board member and treasurer for Salem Chamber of Commerce as well as the treasurer for the Salem Basketball Officials Association. He has two daughters, Caitlyn is a student at University of Oregon and Savannah is a student at Notre Dame University. Away from the office he enjoys golfing, mountain biking, boating, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. (Curriculum Vitae)

Jeanette Mena

CPA, CVA, MAcc
Senior Manager

Jeanette provides attest, business valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support services to clients in various industries and life circumstances. Jeanette was born and raised in New York and spent her high school and college years in Arizona, where she graduated from Arizona State University with a Master of Science in Accountancy and Information Systems and a minor in Spanish language. She has since resided in Oregon for nearly a decade and is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and is trained as a financial neutral and in collaborative divorce. Jeanette is a proud wife and mother and has a son in preschool and two older stepsons in high school and college. Away from the office she enjoys traveling, stand-up paddle-boarding, dancing, singing, cooking, crafts, foreign languages, spending time with her family, and doting on her youngest boy. James W. Doerfler

CPA, CVA

Jim was born and raised in Salem, OR graduating from North Salem High School, attending and graduating from Chemeketa Community College with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. Later attending and graduating from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in science with an accounting major. After graduating, he worked primarily in the public accounting field becoming certified (CPA) in 1986 where he worked with small businesses and individuals providing taxation and accounting services, in addition, he also provided computer network, accounting software installation, and database design and related support services to employers and clients as well. In 2008 he earned his certification as a Business Valuation Analyst (CVA) where he has worked on several business valuation engagements for buy-sell, estate, and divorce litigation purposes. Jim has spent many years volunteering as Treasurer for the Salem Public Library Foundation and the Oregon State Elks Association / Elks Youth Eye Services. He enjoys spending time with his wife Kolette of over 38 years on their small farm and is an avid reader and likes keeping up with computer technology and getting out on the ocean to fish.
